Attorney Cezar McKnight, Chief Minority Whip of The South Carolina Democratic Caucus, is a 1992 graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. Attorney McKnight enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in 1991 and was honorably discharged in April of 1999. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Paralegal Studies from Morris Brown College in May, 1996. He was Captain of the Morris Brown College Intercollegiate Mock Trial Team, member of the Morris Brown Tennis Team and Senator in the Morris Brown College Senate while attending Morris Brown.

Attorney McKnight earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in June of 2001. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar and Federal Bar for the District of South Carolina in October of 2002. He began practicing at the Law Office of Ronnie A. Sabb in 2002. He became an associate with the Clekis Law Firm in 2003. Attorney McKnight opened his own practice, The Law Office of Cezar E. McKnight, LLC, in Lake City, South Carolina in October of 2007. He practices mostly in the areas of Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, and Criminal Defense, both state and federally.

Attorney McKnight is a member of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, The Black Lawyers Association, The South Carolina Association of the Criminal Defense Lawyers, Williamsburg County Bar and the Florence County Bar. He is a Member of the WBTW Channel 13 Advisory Board. He is member of the Kingstree Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. He is 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Gideon Lodge #428 in Andrews South Carolina, P.K. Gadegbeku Chapter #440, Kingstree, South Carolina, King Solomon Consistory #330, Kingstree South Carolina and Crescent Temple #180 A.E.A.O.N.M.S., Florence, South Carolina. He is a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Lake City, South Carolina.
